I have switchable graphics HP tm2 Intel/ATI graphic cards.
Closing the lid worked OK on Natty, just upgraded to Oneric, doesn’t work. When
I close the lid just turn the screen off.

OK, it's the same with xcreensaver. Only with opensource driver I can
switch to locked session from dm. With fglrx the system freezes.
It might be that dm is trying to create a new session even when there is
existing one but locked and that's why it hangs?

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 dev and if I open an application in the terminal
(for example git gui and scite ) I get the output [1] 12619
(dependend on the job and pid) and can continue using the terminal. The
problem is if I close the terminal the application
I was using nautilus which apparently uses file-roller internally. Marc
was also kind enough to educate me that specifying the password on the
cli will always make it show up in the task list and is not a valid test
case. Changing back to file-roller package.

On opening empathy the MSN account isn't signed in. I have to go to
accounts, disable the account and then reenable it for it to log me in.
Then it only shows me as online to my MSN contacts for a second before
showing me as offline. empathy shows me as available but my
