The error Rhythmbox states is that it can't resolve some of the
dependencies when installing gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg.
If you do a manual ...
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
... this installs all the required files. A quick restart of Rhythmbox
and all imports appear to work fine.

(but I need the rear microphone jack working as the webcam is only

I found out by personal testing that Firefox in OpenSuse is also
affected, so it seems not to be distro specific.
On the other hand, with the Firefox vanilla builds by mozilla.org I
can't reproduce this bug.

As found in one upstream bug, you can use a temporary fix/workaround for Xfce
by doing
sudo sed -i.bak 's/OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;/OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;XFCE;/g'
/etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-*.desktop
Then logging out and back in.
