Notice this is concomitent with me upgrading my SSD to a faster one (840pro).

switched on, than firefox in my case is not useable at all because it

all the places where gpu_bo/gpu_damage can become out-of-sync and

For reference, I've added the PPA, updated everything, logged out,
checked that I don't have xorg config file (so that I keep getting sna
by default).
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Offhand this sounds like a compiz crashed bug, particularly if you're
finding the issue does not appear with lubuntu or other non-unity
ubuntu's. If this is true, then you should be able to launch a terminal
window via ctrlalt t when the system is showing just the
background.

will be interesting to test for this case.

A 3.8 kernel did not appear to be compatible with 12.04.1... Although it booted
to the login screen there was:
(1) No grub menu, (2) No boot screen just purple, (3) When plugging in a USB

appreciate that many others would be negatively affected by my
experience being improved!
I do need more advice on how to manually trigger a probe. In my
experience, connecting the monitor (after booted), then opening display
I'd give it a bit of time before declaring success. Since you've
reported the issue I have been trying to add some paranoia to that layer
and harden it, which is why I was optimist I had fixed something. Can

no it's not your epson driver. I have HP 7250 brand new. With HPLiP
drivers and double side printing does not work in gnome.
Aside the fact that the printing control panel does nothing about
configuring the printer. Doing a print job with gnome will not print
double sided because
I can revert that and test if it exposes the issue.
