Yea, this is pretty much unusable, and I may reinstall 16.04. I don't

Happens to me since about a month. IDK if xorg or some other desktop
subsystem, but the screen suddenly turns unresponsive except for a very
laggy mouse cursor. Most of the time it happens with firefox after
seeing some video (inside firefox, like in youtube, or outside, like
using videos or vlc);

I can confirm that the bug disappears after switching to a newer kernel
than Ubuntu's 16.04 main one. 4.8.10-040810-generic did the trick.
