[Test Case] #FIXME# * detailed instructions how to reproduce the bug * these should allow someone who is not familiar with the affected package to reproduce the bug and verify that the updated package fixes the problem. #FIXME# [Regression Potential] * If this issue is changed DNS resolution will change, for certain queries, to go via VPN rather than general internet. And therefore, one may get new/different results or even loose access to resolve/access certain parts of the interent depending on what the DNS server on VPN chooses to respond to. [Other Info] * Original bug report I use a VPN configured with network-manager-openconnect-gnome in which a split-horizon DNS setup assigns different addresses to some names inside the remote network than the addresses seen for those names from outside the remote network. However, systemd-resolved often decides to ignore the VPN’s DNS servers and use the local network’s DNS servers to resolve names (whether in the remote domain or not), breaking the split-horizon DNS. On my systems, this bug also affected saving files from firefox, regardless of the destination! This is not about the time for downloading, I'm talking about ~1 kB files. On one machine, it took 4-5 seconds saving such files to any location (not just the desktop), on the other it took over 2 seconds. After renaming the extension, saving from firefox happened instantly again on both machines. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826604 Title: Extension causes saving files to desktop to be slow Status in gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons: New Status in gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: To reproduce: 1. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1809407] Re: [nvidia] Corrupted wallpaper after resuming from suspend or hibernation
@vanvugt can this fix be backported to gnome-3-32 branch? I just talked to the package maintainer in Arch repos and they said 3.33.4 is odd numbered, hence not a stable release, so we would have to wait for 3.34, but given how this is affecting many people I wished it sooner rather than later. When we don't use global menu plasmoid but disable titlebar (enable CSD), the window stays slim, and the tab bar stay tightly on top of the window left to the window control icons, but when we add the global menu plasmoid, the window gives a blank area where there is the window control icons on top right, then the opened tab bar. IMHO, it should stay on top like there is no the menu holder plasmoid. --- ProblemType: Bug AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu27 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: kubuntu4436 F pulseaudio BuildID: 20190410124846 CasperVersion: 1.405 Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: KDE DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.04 Extensions: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback IncompatibleExtensions: Unavailable (corrupt or non-existant compatibility.ini or extensions.sqlite) IpRoute: default via 10.0.2.2 dev enp0s2 proto dhcp metric 100 10.0.2.0/24 dev enp0s2 proto kernel scope link src 10.0.2.15 metric 100 169.254.0.0/16 dev enp0s2 scope link metric 1000 LiveMediaBuild: Kubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Release amd64 (20190416) Locales: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing Package: firefox 66.0.3+build1-0ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 PrefSources: prefs.js ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.0.0-13.14-generic 5.0.6 Profiles: Profile0 (Default) - LastVersion=66.0.3/20190410124846 RunningIncompatibleAddons: False Tags: disco Themes: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing Uname: Linux 5.0.0-13-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 04/01/2014 dmi.bios.vendor: SeaBIOS dmi.bios.version: 1.12.0-20181126_142135-anatol dmi.chassis.type: 1 dmi.chassis.vendor: QEMU dmi.chassis.version: pc-q35-4.0 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnSeaBIOS:bvr1.12.0-20181126_142135-anatol:bd04/01/2014:svnQEMU:pnStandardPC(Q35+ICH9,2009):pvrpc-q35-4.0:cvnQEMU:ct1:cvrpc-q35-4.0: dmi.product.name: Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009) dmi.product.version: pc-q35-4.0 dmi.sys.vendor: QEMU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1824507/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1837289] Re: yes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1837284] [NEW] Initial installation does not allow high graphics resolution. Requires disabling Wayland and using Nvidia proprietary driver.
Public bug reported: 1. Booting the system from USB 3.0 stick does not show any indication of graphics problems. 2. Upon the installation to a hard drive, the graphics resolution is below standard and cannot be changed in the system settings. 3. By installing the Nvidia driver and rebooting the system, I find that there is no graphics desktop available; apparently, level 5 was not fully reached. There is a workaround for this. I can try to press CTRL+F2 and then CTRL+F1 and the high-resolution graphical desktop becomes apparent. Switching terminals allows me to go to the graphical session. 4. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 907557] Re: Preferences -> "Import photos to:" displays incorrect folder
Further to comment #3, fix would have been in Ubuntu for some time Works as intended with Shotwell 0.30.2 in Ubuntu 19.10 (dev) So closing as fixed ** Changed in: shotwell (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Released ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: shotwell Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/907557 Title: Preferences -> "Import photos to:" displays incorrect folder Status in One Hundred Papercuts: Fix Released Status in Shotwell: Fix Released Status in shotwell package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: When selecting a Library Location to import photos to in the preferences, it will display the wrong folder under certain circumstances. For example, if you want to set the location to ~/foobar/pictures, you click "other..." and in the file-chooser dialog, double-click the "foobar" folder, then highlight the "pictures" folder and click "open", shotwell will display your choice, and the Library Location will be displayed as "pictures". But if you close the preferences window, and reopen it again, you will see that "foobar" is now listed as the Library Location. To actually select the "pictures" folder, you have to double click on the pictures folder from the file chooser dialog, and then click "open". Showell will now display the exact same thing it did in the earlier case, only this time the setting "sticks" properly, and this can be verified by closing the preferences and opening it again and seeing that it has not changed.
