With default installation parameters CPU temperatures goes above 95° very

According to #11, it didn't detect the plugging on the headphone jack.
please run sudo hdajacksensetest -a before headphone jack is plugged,
then plug a headphone in the headphone jack,
rerun the sudo hdajacksensetest -a and compare which pin is changed.

I also wonder if the original reasons for us wanting that module (USB
DACs and Bluetooth) still really need it in the current version.

I *think* what we want from upstream is for module-switch-on-connect to
ignore new connections which are detected around the same time as the
daemon starting. Because those are not user-initiated but more likely
just a side-effect of logging in.

I've recently just run into the same problem since recent updates, I've
had my XPS since October 2017 and am currently running Ubuntu 18.04.3.
No issues until last week. I think I may have selected "headset with
microphone" by accident once when inserting headphones without a
microphone, but no
