[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2039235] Re: gnome-online-accounts -> when signing into google account, infinite loading after entering password
I am facing this issue on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS as well so I suspect that this is not related to the operating system per se but more of the package and how it interacts with google. I have attached my dependencies as well as my full cpuinfo. ** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-online-accounts/+bug/2039235/+attachment/5712188/+files/Dependencies.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-online-accounts in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2039235 Title: gnome-online-accounts -> when signing into google account, infinite loading after entering password Status in gnome-online-accounts package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: 1) What you expected to happen - sign in is successful, which will allow google services to populate the appropriate applications (calendar, mail, google drive) 2) What actually happened - sign in hangs infinitely after entering the password - the process is able to detect that the password is correct or incorrect. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 2040068] Re: Can't connect my Synology NAS from Ubuntu 22.04
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug. I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2040068 Title: Can't connect my Synology NAS from Ubuntu 22.04 Status in gvfs package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I purchased a Synology DS723+ NAS (under DSM 7.2-64570). I access it without any problem from a Huawei MateBook 14s running Ubuntu 22.04. I can't do it, however, from an Acer Swift 5 also running Ubuntu 22.04. Seen from this PC, I get the following message: "Unable to access location Failed to get list of shares from server: Invalid argument." When I look at my NAS log, the connection attempt gives the following message: "Host [192.168.1.22] failed to connect via [SMB] due to [SMB1 not permitted]." While the message obtained after a successful connection with the other PC is the following: "User [xxx] from [xxx(192.168.1.36)] via [CIFS(SMB3)] accessed shared folder [Photos]." I tried to compare the differences between the 2 PCs running Ubuntu 22.04 without success. Samba was not initially installed on the Acer Swift 5 initially, but the installation did not correct the problem. After reading different posts, I understand that the SMB1 connection is disabled by default since Ubuntu 20.04: I therefore do not understand why the Acer Swift 5 seems to connect like that. And when I run "journalctl -f" on my Acer and then try to connect to the NAS, here is what I get: oct. 09 21:56:32 xxx gvfsd[9205]: smbXcli_negprot_smb1_done: No compatible protocol selected by server. oct. 09 21:56:47 xxx gvfsd[9205]: smbXcli_negprot_smb1_done: No compatible protocol selected by server. I can confirm this is still happening in mantic, using the following versions: chromium 118.0.5993.88 fonts-ubuntu 0.869-0ubuntu1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2019045 Title: [snap] New Ubuntu font with normal weight displayed as bold in Google Docs in Chromium after upgrading to Lunar Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in fonts-ubuntu package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I am experiencing a rendering regression after upgrading from Kinetic to Lunar. Google Docs using the Ubuntu font family are displayed incorrectly in Chromium: the normal weight font is rendered identically to the bold weight one, instead of being thicker than light and thinner than medium. Printing is also affected, unless I use Google Docs' download to PDF function, although that probably triggers a server-side rendering. This issue does not occur in Firefox or Google Chrome. One thing that may be relevant: if I force-refresh my test Google Doc I see all four Ubuntu font lines initially being rendered as bold. The light and medium lines are then re-rendered with the correct weight. It's as if bold was the default weight and the normal variant disappeared. As far as I can tell I was already running Chromium 112.0.5615.49 in Kinetic, and with Chromium being a snap I don't quite understand why the Ubuntu series would matter. I have also tried version 114.0.5735.16 (in latest/beta at the moment); the symptoms are identical. The attachments show the rendering error. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 2039868]
Hello, I'm having this same issue with my thinkpad z16 laptop, Ryzen 6850H and Radeon RX 6500M graphics card. I do not use the laptop for gaming but for audio and video editing. I have not had trouble with any video editing software but I can easily reproduce the issue by loading up Ardour or Mixbus32C and either leaving it alone or working. After 15 minutes the screen freezes although audio will continue for a time. At this point Ardour or Mixbus will close and I can continue using the machine. If I load up either program again it will fail again, usually within a couple minutes and the whole laptop will freeze up until I ctrl-alt-F2 to get to a terminal prompt. The issue always happens when Im recording audio with an HDMI device attached and 90% of the time without HDMI I will attempt to set this kernel parameter amdgpu.mcbp=0 and report back. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2039868 Title: amdgpu reset during usage of firefox Status in Linux: Unknown Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in mesa package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Running nightly on 23.10 (since monday), I have been experiencing a few amdgpu resets in the past hours ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 23.10 Package: linux-image-6.5.0-9-generic 6.5.0-9.9 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.5.0-9.9-generic 6.5.3 Uname: Linux 6.5.0-9-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.27.0-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Thu Oct 19 18:26:43 2023 HibernationDevice: RESUME=/dev/mapper/vg--ubuntu-lv--ubuntu--swap InstallationDate: Installed on 2022-07-04 (472 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Release amd64 (20220419) MachineType: {report['dmi.sys.vendor']} {report['dmi.product.name']} ProcEnviron: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color ProcFB: 0 amdgpudrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-6.5.0-9-generic root=/dev/mapper/vg--ubuntu-lv--ubuntu--root ro rootflags=subvol=@ quiet splash resume=/dev/mapper/vg--ubuntu-lv--ubuntu--swap vt.handoff=7 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-6.5.0-9-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-6.5.0-9-generic N/A linux-firmware 20230919.git3672ccab-0ubuntu2.1 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to mantic on 2023-10-16 (3 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 05/15/2023 dmi.bios.release: 1.24 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: R1MET54W (1.24 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 21A0CTO1WW dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Defined dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: None dmi.ec.firmware.release: 1.24 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrR1MET54W(1.24):bd05/15/2023:br1.24:efr1.24:svnLENOVO:pn21A0CTO1WW:pvrThinkPadP14sGen2a:rvnLENOVO:rn21A0CTO1WW:rvrNotDefined:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNone:skuLENOVO_MT_21A0_BU_Think_FM_ThinkPadP14sGen2a: dmi.product.family: ThinkPad P14s Gen 2a dmi.product.name: 21A0CTO1WW dmi.product.sku: LENOVO_MT_21A0_BU_Think_FM_ThinkPad P14s Gen 2a dmi.product.version: ThinkPad P14s Gen 2a dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/2039868/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2040068] [NEW] Can't connect my Synology NAS from Ubuntu 22.04
Public bug reported: I purchased a Synology DS723+ NAS (under DSM 7.2-64570). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 2040047] [NEW] Removing Python modules causes the removal of Xorg
Public bug reported: I tried to remove python3-keyring and was surprised to see that this would cause the removal of xorg and sddm. The dependency chain is something like: python3-keyring <- python3-launchpadlib <- python3-apport <- xserver-xorg <- sddm.
