Ahh, this could be a result of upstream taking my well-known name idea
from Ubuntu and mangling it further to only allow .module. Makes some
sense, I suppose, and certainly fixes the same bug I was fixing with our

I occasionally get this, though I'm at a loss to debug it. It seems
like one in N (when N is a large enough number to let me get work done,
but a small enough one to be annoying) seems to open with what appears
to be some sort of flow control or buffering turned on.
The result of this is that
You can stop gnome-terminal from trapping Alt for the menus in
Edit-Keyboard Shortcuts.
I'm not closing this as the menubar not being technically disablable is
perhaps a bug (though, really, just a minor cosmetic inconvenience),
I'll leave that to the desktop team.
