appreciate that many others would be negatively affected by my
experience being improved!
I do need more advice on how to manually trigger a probe. In my
experience, connecting the monitor (after booted), then opening display
I will attach 3 files with the output of xrandr --verbose. However,
this is with Precise w/o edgers ppa. I'll first update to edgers ppa,
do it again, then later try Raring.
First file is xrandr --verbose when booting w/o VGA external connected
(and still disconnected). So this is baseline.

I've found that an explicit restart of nm-applet (with pkill and then
just running nm-applet -- maybe there's a better way) brings the applet
back to a useable state. Restarting the network-manager infrastructure,
on the other hand, does not seem to fully refresh the applet.

I am also affected by this as it hangs while consuming one of the cpu
cores but never displays anything.

I have the same situation except it only occurs on one machine of two
supposedly identical setups.
If there is anything I can do to provide information as to the difference in
the two setups, please ask.

I am seeing regular networking drops, these occur on a 10 minute
repeating pattern. The issue does not always occur on every 10 minute
boundary but any occurances are on that 10 minute boundary. This is a
dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 network. The issue does not appear to be

Me too. Maybe rhythmbox hits the share particularly hard? My music
folder's on a NAS device via smb: and I've got it set to scan for
changes.

It should also be noted that a Ctrl+Super+x keybinding implies both of
the prefix characters pressed together and then the additional key, and
that depending which of Super and Ctrl contacts first depends on whether
the launcher is triggered falsely. We should consider the super as part
of a key
I'd also like to see this fixed. It is occasionally required, and is one
of the issues that makes Ubuntu seem less complete and mature. I assume
that the only way to do it at the moment is to edit /etc/hostname and
/etc/hosts. Anyone know otherwise? Also, I've seen rumours of minor
issues when

My machine was suspended with a relatively empty battery. When I came
back to it in the morning it was completely dead. On inspection the
machine appears to have near exhausted its battery and woken up to allow
