I recently upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04. 12.04 was working flawlessly. Luckily
I retained the old 3.2.0-83-generic-64 kernel from 12.04. It seems that it is a

The disable auto-connect workaround seems to alliviate the problem. Hope
this helps to narrow this bug down.

Windows (and I'm thinking of installing Ubuntu as well). The same
problem (no sound from headphones after waking up from sleep mode) is
present in Windows 8/8.1 and the solution is simply to install the

Just a comment on this issue, that I reported some months ago for Ubuntu
13.10. After installing Ubuntu 14.04, this issue is not occurring again,

My media keys were already set to default, so the solution from comment
#4 didn't work for me. What salved the problem for me was adding the
official gnome3 ppa and upgrading gnome:

icons, but the Qt themes (colors, styles, etc) are not picked up on a 32-bit
binary running on 64-bit Ubuntu.

Ok I found the package needed, this command fixes the issue:
sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0:i386
It pulls a lot of 32-bit libraries and then Skype can get the proper
themes and colors, included high contrast ones. I am not sure if there

Confirm on Debian GNU/Linux sid, KDE 4.10.5 and LiBo 4.1.3.2.

i've got same bug even on my 13.04 and 13.10 ubuntu. Cant benchmark with
samsung ssd 840 120gb and WDC green 1tb

I fix the problem coping all the files I found in /usr/share/alsa of the liveCD
(Selected Try Ubuntu) on my HD. The folder of my Ubuntu system has been
deleted by some process.

disabled remmina ppa
apt-get update; apt-get install remmina

The same crackling happens to me in some videos (like those in the
Coursera website) on Google Chrome 30.0.1599.22 beta, Ubuntu 13.04
32bit. Graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 4670.
