There's no more output. I can add to it that it does not exit, but it
becomes unresponsive to any click.
Additionally prior to the freeze, the Ubuntu dialog pops up with Ask
what to do etc. and that disappears immediately. It just flashes for a
second. I'm not sure if that's relevant.

Unfortunately that doesn't produce any output.
I ran:
banshee --debug
Then I connected the device. Banshee works for a few seconds until the
ubuntu dialog What do you want to do flashes and then it becomes
unresponsive.
Then I run in a different terminal:
killall -SIGHUP banshee
That only
Ok here's the output. Banshee does not exit with that command but it
does ouput info:

This is very silly. This bug is still not fixed after 4 months. Put the
panel back in please.
