I don't recall if I tried installing fglrx-updates, but I did install
the intel driver and the fglrx.
The symptom after installing your drivers is low graphics mode. After
installing the official drivers I get the background with no window
borders and no menus.

My cat could very well have installed the proprietary ATI driver--who
knows what she does while I'm away during the day! Otherwise, it was
probably installed during the Ubuntu installation process, since I don't
recall purposefully installing any video drivers (I did install some
drivers for the Wi
So, I did some searching about the ATI driver and tried removing the
fglrx-updates and fglrx-amdcccle-updates packages. On reboot, everything
was working normally again. I'm not sure why these packages were
installed--I'm fairly sure I didn't request them explicitly, and I
didn't see anything immed
I have followed these instructions, but have noted a few problems in addition
the multitouch issue already mentioned:
1. After rebooting into Windows 8, touch NO LONGER WORKS. I tried shutting
down and rebooting several times with the same result. It continues to work
(for single touch) in Ub
Shutdown, went to lunch for about 30mins, came back, rebooted into
Windows. Now it works. Rebooted into Ubuntu, touch works. Rebooted
into Windows, touch works. Shutdown, waited, rebooted into Ubuntu,

Running 32 bit software which uses OpenGL doesn't work anymore after
updating to quantal kernel+xorg in Ubuntu 12.04.2 64 bit. 64 Bit

Title:
question for autorizattion at restore not
I too had graphics issues after this upgrade. I am using Ubuntu 12.10 in
a VMware Fusion virtual machine on a Mac. After upgrading mesa and
xatracker to 9.0.2-0ubuntu0.1 I no longer get video playback in Totem.
All videos show a black video window. Audio works and the time indicator
progresses as
either case.
