I am pretty sure I'm having this problem on a Toshiba Chromebook 2
(CB35-B3340) running 16.04 fully updated as of this week. I get the
ethernet up/down arrows, there is no ethernet on this laptop. I also
get the state where it is disconnected and not showing any wifi
networks. It seems to be
I forgot to add: XUbuntu is running wonderfully on this machine
otherwise. There are just a couple of little tweaks needed, like this
one, and this US$250 machine will make a really nice Ubuntu ultrabook!

Running on a Samsung Chromebook 5 installed with chrubuntu and upgraded
from precise all the way to saucy. The trackpad works fine, except the
lower right edge always make a right-click even if single clicked. I
can't find a way to turn that behavior off.
I investigated
Ok, I found the right setting to disable this aggravation:
synclient RightButtonAreaLeft=0
synclient RightButtonAreaTop=0

On a Samsung Chromebook 5 running Ubuntu/saucy, the audio does not work
at all. I found two things on the Debian wiki that made it work for me:

(In Ubuntu, I've mounted the ChromeOS system on /media/root-a.)
I have a Samsung Chromebook 5 running Ubuntu/saucy and I was able to get the

Ok, I'm stuck in this mode again. I launched this firefox window from
the Terminal using firefox , firefox was already running. In this
window, the mouse does not work. I had to tab thru all of the links to
get to this field. Emacs launched from a Terminal is dumping the
G_IS_OBJECT messages
I forgot to add, I also use gnome-do.

Strange, after hitting the Post Comment button, I can scroll this window
using the mouse wheel again, but can't switch windows,

I purged lightdm and used my computer with gdm, and the problem still
happened. I originally had lightdm active and gdm installed. Now that
the problem also happens with only gdm, I have purged gdm and am only
using lightdm.
A couple less concrete observations:
- the problem seems to happen
I'm currently stuck in the state described. I can quit/close whatever
window is on top, and it'll take me to the next window. That's how I
got to this browser window. The keyboard focus works, but the mouse
clicking doesn't do anything, even tho the mouse pointer works fine. I
had to tab thru
