Even after correct password is entered after sysem restart, for empathy it
fails to authorize. again i have delete the account and link the account to

I have tried ussing password and keys and deleted empathy account login

But it is of no use, if i restart my system.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 322314] Re: Automatically connect on startup setting confusing - users may expect this to run Empathy on login

2013-11-24 Thread Ruchir
I also encountered same issue. The setting is confusing. It has option
to connect on startup but it doesn't connect until empathy is started
manually.

Empathy IM setting 'Edit Preferences Automatically connect on

Maybe change wording to 'connect to internet when empathy starts'? and
make a setting for starting empathy on login

  Added 2011-05-17:

  - Please note that the Gnome bug has gone a bit off track into a different
issue. I hope that is sorted now.
  - With the new Unity interface this problem is even greater. Before that the
easiest way to add an application to session startup was to drag-n-drop it from
the menu into the Startup Application window. Now there is no menu by default.
How do other applications deal with this?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1254482] [NEW] reminders of past events showing up after adding google calendar in evolution

2013-11-24 Thread Ruchir
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 13.10 x86_64
Evolution 3.8.4

I just installed evolution and added google calendar in it. It started
showing reminders of all past events after downloading the calendar. It
shows reminder for each and every past event instead of showing only
upcoming events as per appropriate time.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add google calendar in evolution.

Expected result:
Calendar should be added and event reminders should come as and when upcoming
events approach.

Actual result:
Shows reminders of all past events immediately. Putting lot of load on system.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 811291] Re: Weird inconsistent behavior/lack of syncrhonization with empathy messaging integration

2013-11-19 Thread Ruchir
I have latest updates and still facing the issue.
When new message is received, I see message indicator. I select the message
from there which opens chat window but there's no message there. If I select
previous conversations, I can see messages there. This usually happens when
first time message is received from particular contact in a day.

Bug description:
Seeing strange interactions between gnome-shell and empathy on latest

-gnome-shell messaging indicator doesn't always show up when receiving a new
IM
--when this happens, clicking on blinking empathy icon waits for quite a
while before opening the empathy chat window

including the newly received IM content
--after closing the chat window, then the gnome-shell chat indicator for the
conversation sometimes appears, but also doesn't contain the new messaging
content, and doesn't go away without right click, then remove

everything worked a bit better on natty+gnome3ppa, wondering if this
