[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1630077] Re: Inkscape doesn't open ubuntu 16.04 libgiomm-2.4.so.1
I have the same phenomena upon installation of Inkscape. This is what I did: 1. click .ai file and said from nautilus that "You need to install application to open this file". 2. Showed two applications. I chose Inkscape. 3. Installation started. Affiliated packages as well. After I tried to open inkscape, I found the following message. inkscape: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/libgiomm-2.4.so.1: undefined symbol: _ZN4Glib11VariantTypeD1Ev -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to inkscape in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630077 Title: Inkscape doesn't open ubuntu 16.04 libgiomm-2.4.so.1 Status in inkscape package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I am using ubuntu 16.04. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1594681] Re: Don't override IM variables
Hi, I was just stacked by this trouble ... (1) cannot input Japanese characters via Mozc (Japanese input method) in Dash search window (2) cannot input any Japanese characters for Skype. I suppose these troubles closely connected to this bug. Both troubles was solved like a magic by installing gnome-session packages at Gunnar's PPA (ppa:gunnarhj/gnome-im). I suggest this modification will link to solve the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1594681 Title: Don't override IM variables Status in gnome-session: Confirmed Status in Ubuntu GNOME: Fix Committed Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in gnome-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in gnome-session source package in Xenial: In Progress Status in gnome-settings-daemon source package in Xenial: In Progress Bug description: [Impact] Currently these variable settings are hardcoded in gnome-session and gnome-settings-daemon: QT_IM_MODULE=ibus XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus That way the use of alternative IM frameworks, for instance fcitx, is prevented. The variables should only be set if they are empty, so the values set by im-config are honored. [Test Case] * Install Ubuntu GNOME * Install both the gnome-session and gnome-settings-daemon proposed updates * Install fcitx * Set fcitx as the input method: im-config -n fcitx * Relogin * Check the IM-related environment variables: env | grep -E '_IM|XMOD' After the proposed uploads of gnome-session and gnome-settings-daemon, those variables are consistently (unlike before) set to "fcitx". [Regression Potential] Low. im-config sets "ibus" by default in Ubuntu GNOME anyway. This change prevents an inconsistent input method configuration for users who have actively chosen some other IM framework. The gnome-settings-daemon change was included upstream in 3.19.3 and the gnome-session change was included upstream in 3.21.90. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 964574] Re: Images print as black blocks
I encounter similar phenomena at Ubuntu 12.04 on my home. This computer is connected to very old printer, Canon S600 (equivalent, BJ F850 in Japanese brand name) via USB. Almost of all printing is fine using foomatic printer driver (S600 or S630) except printing from Firefox. It turns out totally black with fine streaky lines in the right side. Page is totally black with characters embossing like photo negatives. Printing is no problem if I once output pages to PDF (using cups-pdf) and then printing (using Adobe Acrobat). Also, I confirmed this problem on printing from Google Chrome. I am not sure what layer is the cause of this problem, cups, gs or these browsers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/964574 Title: Images print as black blocks Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: With the latest upgrade (11.0) images print as a black block. E.g. printing out www.google.com results in a black rectangle where I would expect to see the image of the google logo. In the past output to my HP1100 worked properly. This is a major problem as I now cannot print maps or any other images without using another browser. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 945987] Re: No Settings are available in Preferred format, only preset defaults are used
I confirmed this phenomena on 12.04 amd64. The preference button at Sound Juicer does not appear. I tried some workaround introduced on the Net (such as https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=713721 ) but the thing did not go better. Very curiously, another software, goobox (I had to install this because of profile selection) seems working, appearing profile selection button and selection itself. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #713721 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=713721 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945987 Title: No Settings are available in Preferred format, only preset defaults are used Status in The GStreamer Multimedia Framework: Incomplete Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: This has been going on since 11.10 dev, maybe should be addressed In Edit - Preferences, the Settings button is greyed out unavailable.
