This is mostly fixed in the next development release of Ubuntu. Ubuntu 23.04 is not a Long Term Support release but will be released in April. 2017 ubuntu 16.04 Unity out of the box. Same thing. Very ugly. It is almost impossible to find necessary files if you have hundreds of them for example in camera folder. Have to open standalone Files window, look for files I need and then find those files by name in Open Files dialog. Very very disappointing thing.
