I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 since it came out, but are effected by this bug only since two weeks. What I noticed: I have a couple of programs setup to start automatically (via gnome-session-properties). When I log in and get kicked out because of this bug, those programs where never started at all.

This just happened to me twice as well, after the first reboot after upgrading the kernel to 4.18.0-16-generic. System had been running for a few days (with several reboots) on 4.18.0-15-generic with no issues. After logging in for the second time without rebooting everything is good so far.
