When exporting to plain-svg, inkscape respects the size of the slice-
rectangle, but not the area.
Steps to reproduce:
1.) Draw a shape
2.) Add a layer on top, name it export
3.) Draw a rectangle over the shape drawn in step 1.)
4.) Give shape ID-name: "slice-ID"
5.) save
I have done as indicated, but the application menu still does not show
up for Nautilus. It shows up for other applications, but not Nautilus.

Mystery solved and apologies for the invalid bug report. There was an
old gnome-power-statistics in /usr/local/bin
This laptop has been updated from 12.04 to 16.04 without skipping any
intermediate steps and apparently at some point I felt the need to install
gnome-power-statistics manually.
This does not happen if you go from -lts-utopic to -lts-wily.

I'm running into the same issue. My network doesn't have IPv6 although
its configured to try, turning off IPv6 had no effect.
If I direct all traffic through the VPN ('Use this connection only for
resources on its network' in the routes window is left unchecked) I get
a DNS server but its not

uninstalled lots of things and re-installed lots of things during the
re-install it said something failed to update. When I tried installing
the failed update it kept giving me error messages and now I can't
