I have the same problem. While using UXA results in the titlebars being
rendered correctly, it seems to drain the battery much quicker.

Disregard last question - I spent some time on the Interwebs and found
the answer:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:glasen/intel-driver
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel
Before researching this issue, I didn't even know the driver was called
"xserver-xorg-video-intel".
Just jumping in with a "me too". I've just installed the nightly 14.04,
and it's extremely choppy. I go in to ccsm, untick "Detect Refresh Rate"
and then set "Refresh Rate" to 60. Most of the time, if I close ccsm
then open it again, "Detect Refresh Rate" is still unticked, but
"Refresh Rate" is nu

accessing a Samba share using IP addresses.

I am running Ubuntu 11.10 desktop 64 bit, the server is 11.10 64 bit,
all updates installed, and this problem still exists. Steps to
reproduce:
1. Create a file on the server (eg: /tmp/test.txt).
2. chown usr1:grp1 /tmp/test.txt
3. Open Nautilus on desktop.

I believe I have found what was casuing the problem in my case. I have a
Realtek R8168 onboard ethernet, but Ubuntu was loading the Realtek R8169
driver.

Sorry, looks like I spoke too soon (post #4). The disconnections are
still occuring even though I have replaced the R8169 with the R8168
module. I'm now testing with a WiFi dongle, will see how solid/stable my
PPTP connection is using different networking equipment.

I've been using the Wifi connect now for 16 hours:

The PPTP VPN connection has stayed up for the entire time - not one
single disconnect. The only problem is the RT3072 is incredibly slow
