I have checked in some initial Clustering GBeans for Tomcat. As I
developed this, it appeared that the Tomcat version 5.5.9 did not match
the Tomcat doc. This led me to examine the Tomcat objects and
changelog. It would appear that there were some improvements between TC
v 5.5.9 and 5.5.12,

Ah ... that's the heart of the issue. Based upon the current console
capability, it has primary been a J2EE application server console. From
what I can tell that's primarily been Geronimo's focus as well. All of
the J2EE application servers I've seen have one web container to manage

Hi,
First, I would recommend that you have a good understanding of how
Tomcat clustering works. See:
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/cluster-howto.html
Now..a disclaimer...
All I did was enable the Tomcat clustering and extend it into Geronimo.
This means that 99% of it should
I agree with this approach for V1 if we can keep the user's view
restricted to just the container or containers that are installed and
give no hint of the container that is not installed.
However, I'm not sure of the longevity of such an implementation beyond

Part 1 showed a simple clustering for the Engine. This is doable at the

the Engine, but setting it for the Host.

In the last 2 parts I explained how to set up simple clustering with a

I wouldn't mind TCK testing what we've got as soon as David J has the
Tomcat/Jetty distros ready and calling it 1.0-RC1 if we can finish the

out there, though I haven't reviewed the list. Can you send
