Ignite Summit Cloud Edition Event Page/Community

2021-10-06 Thread Kevin Corbett
Hello Igniters!

Ignite Summit Cloud Edition is coming up pretty soon and I thought it would be
great to help setup an event page on LinkedIn to spread awareness. When someone
signs up, a notification is sent to the person’s network which helps encourage
more people to sign up to attend as well. This event page is meant to be a
community where we can share daily posts and news to those planning to attend.

It would be great if you guys could sign up and maybe even invite some relevant
contacts from your LinkedIn networks if possible. If you think someone should
attend, feel free to invite them! :)

I’m excited to see how much this group grows over the course of the next couple
of weeks!

Attending and inviting others is as simple as:
- Click the above link and sign into your LinkedIn account
- Click the “Attend” button below the Ignite Summit profile picture
- Click the “Invite” button which has replaced the “Attend” button
- Select relevant contacts and then click “Invite” at the bottom right of this
popup

Thank you!

Updating Javascript npm Package

2021-09-27 Thread Kevin Corbett
Hello Igniters!

I’ve been helping with the Ignite social media channels for the last month now.
Lately I’ve been trying to increase awareness of our Javascript capabilities,
namely the thin client. Someone on our Twitter page had mentioned the npm
package hasn’t been updated in 3 years (!)

I see our Github for the thin client was last updated in January this year.
What can we do to get this updated?
https://www.npmjs.com/package/apache-ignite-client

Also, I saw there was an attempt to add Apache Ignite support to TypeORM but
there were many issues with the client.

Hello Apache Ignite Community

2021-08-18 Thread Kevin Corbett
Dear Team,

Hi all! I am a social media manager looking to help contribute to the Ignite
community.

A little about me: I recently got my degree in computer science and I have a
lot of experience with running the social media channels for my personal
YouTube channel as well as a gaming community outside of my professional work
experience.

I think that Ignite could use some love on that front. We can ramp up awareness
through social media, especially Twitter which I feel has not yet been used to
it’s greatest potential.

Is there any way I could get access to the Apache Ignite Twitter account? :)
I feel that there’s a lot of great stuff that can be shared there and we can
reach a large audience of developers on Twitter to engage with.

Thanks!
Kevin
