The signature changes from void to ICollection shouldn't break anything. Now
the configurators return a list of configuration messages. I suppose it should

I took a look at DefaultRenderer and it looks like
Log4net doesn't have anything built-in to support that. One strategy might be
to keep the logger / at DEBUG and set the appender /'s threshold to WARN.
If the number of warnings overflows some allowable level, you could change that
appender /'s threshold to INFO for a certain amount of time
on this issue going
forward.

The simplest solution is to use a logger per class instead of one shared logger.
