Re: Support to Solr 8.4.1 version

2020-06-22 Thread Cassandra Targett
I work at Lucidworks but not on that team, so take this with a grain of salt:
It seems they simply neglected to update the tags & compatibility table. There
is a 3.8.0 version of the .jar on Maven Central:
https://search.maven.org/artifact/com.lucidworks.spark/spark-solr/3.8.0/jar,
which if you look at the commit you linked to is the version in the pom.xml
that was updated to support 8.4.1.  Alternatively, it looks pretty simple to
build it locally if you prefer.

In the future, please take such questions to the project itself so you’re sure
to reach the people who can actually help. If the organization in the path of
the project in GitHub is not “apache”, it’s not officially managed by the
Lucene project.

this release.

I looked up the spark-solr connector. That appears to be a product from
Lucidworks. Lucidworks is a commercial entity that releases products
incorporating Solr. You will need to contact Lucidworks for help with
their products. This mailing list does not support them.

Support to Solr 8.4.1 version

2020-06-22 Thread Karthik K G
Hi Kiran/Team,

Great work on the community's help!!

We are using Solr version 8.4.1 in production and we are trying to leverage
the spark-solr connector to index and query from our code base.
However as per the repository the latest Solr compatible version is given
as 8.3.0
*Ref:*https://github.com/lucidworks/spark-solr#version-compatibility

We have seen a commit on 8.4.1 version a couple of months ago, but I
believe there wasn't any release of it yet.
*Commit link:*
https://github.com/lucidworks/spark-solr/commit/431b9d646d224b7a81b2fa8c1be5e008bc07bbe4

It would be helpful if we can get support for the spark-solr connector to
Solr version 8.4.1.

Could you please let us know a tentative date when the latest version with
this support can be released. Many of us will be unblocked with this
release.

Thanks,
Karthik
