Re: Maven 3.? and settings and more

2009-12-31 Thread Jason van Zyl
I believe it is in sync, and I removed most of the content from the front page
of the Codehaus space and ask Ben to put in place the redirect.

If you work out of here:

http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MAVEN

I would just leave most of the old proposals in
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MAVENOLD/Home. When people are
prepared to work on them they can migrate them over or if folks have new stuff
they can work in the new space.

Making user visible improvements where we can without adversely affecting users

2009-12-31 Thread Jason van Zyl
To address the concern about trying to add some more value to the 3.0 release
why don't we look in JIRA to see if there is anything we might do like:

Things that can be added to the super-POM for example that if we do the merging
rules correctly should be a benefit and not adversely affect users.

Something like:

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-2478

We could even go further here and provide some conventions for using properties
files, and possibly go even further making some conventions for different
environments using profiles. The goal being never having to configure anything
for resource filtering.

Jörg, you raised this issue so maybe you want to run with it. But we can start
small now with what we can where we might be able to add things that don't
require a POM format change. We could probably do the integration lifecycle
additions as well.

Thanks,

Jason

Site Plugin

2009-12-31 Thread Ralph Goers
I just wanted to say that I have been unable to build the site for Commons VFS
ever since I converted it to use Maven 2 as the links were hopelessly broken.
However, today I compiled trunk and configured VFS to use that and it is now
working fine. I don't know if this is a result of fixes for
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MSITE-358 or something else, but I definitely
appreciate whoever fixed this.

Thanks,
Ralph

That sounds like a user visible improvement ;-)

You can thank Benjamin and Olivier.

Thank you and happy new year !!!

And to you too :)

I've reimported the latest space so everything should be ready to go now. I'll
clean up a bit when I get back this afternoon.
