Re: docx2odt converters
@ Carl Marcum Hello, His question was not totally clear indeed, but I suppose it was a problem to open .docx files in AOO from a CD (generally there is no problem with .doc format). So, I have sent him in 2 mails the different possibilities to solve the problem but as he didn't answer up to now, I don't have more information. Hello Guy, I can't tell from this what the issue is. Is it docx format and what happens when opened in AOO? Re: docx2odt converters
MSO is able to import(!) ODF (limited) since MSO2003 with an additional app provided by [SUN|MS]. Since MSO 2007 it is able to do it out of the box (still limited) but enough for normal use cases. The support of ODF is getting better with each version. I guess the user talks about MSO2003 (the kast one with "classic" UI) without having that extension (or converter, OI cannot remember how they called it) installed! Waterval I have no experience with docx conversions other than as handled by OpenOffice; I have used and recommend the free online service of www.zamzar.com for assorted conversions to/from various file formats. I think they also provide a pay service. However, conversion to/from differing formats always carries an overhead of some possible reformatting; how much of this is acceptable from any given conversion process is a matter for the individual. -- Rory O'Farrell - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org
