Https might not be strictly needed between tile renderxcxer and the cache,
but if this is the only way that you can get to the tiles (eg from the
pucxcxccxczxcxzcxxxblic opensnowmap tile server) you can technically still
use that.
If possible try to use http 2 or at least keep-alive connections.

What is the best option for caching tiles served to the clients with https?
I'm new to caching, but I read here and there that setup a reverse proxy
with https between client and cache and http between rendering server
and cache is bad practice. Opensnowmap's only server will serve about
