Hi,
I've been using this converter for some time. It works fine for small osm
files, but crashes system while processing big files of about 2-3 gigabytes. It
seems that converter loads whole osm dataset in memory at some point and
crashes if system has not enough resources.
I wonder whether thi

No, not really. MM office primarily serves as a locked-in gpsbabel: fetches
the data from the unit (*.mmj files), then does differential correction
I don't know. The MobileMapper reads maps produced by MobileMapper Office
right? And those maps need to be converted with a tool called MMOconverter
to work with consumer GPS devices (which reads the format that osmmag
produces).
So it will probably not work. I don't know if MMOconverter is open

Routing would be awesome, but topo maps are a great start anyway.

But I have been looking into how the routing network is stored and I have at
least some
clues how it works.
There are special routing layers on diff

I'm pretty sure they are not routable, since Magellan operates with
different types of maps for Topo and for Navigation purposes.
The maps produced by by Henrik's app are the topo type of maps, not t

Hi,
I have been working on a map generator similar to mkgmap but for Magellan for
some time now. Now I decided to go public and there is now a Sourceforge
project created at http://sf.net/projects/pymag
where you can download the latest version. The program is called "osmmag" and
is written in
