Re: [sc-dev] Cannot use LEGACY.xxx style of functions in OOo3

ODFF is about file format storage, UI names may and sometimes will
differ.

This might not be a problem with CHIDIST, because it is
clear, that this is the old, right tailed form, because CHISQDIST is the
 new left tailed form.

But for FDIST and FINV there are no new names planed. So what will
happen, if you open an old document?

Currently FDIST and FINV are displayed (hopefully, didn't check back ;-)
because that is what users are used to, also from other applications.

You cannot show the name FDIST,
because it will have a different meaning. I would expect, that when
opened, it is changed to LEGACY.FINV. But that can I not use in OOo3.
How will it be possible to use both meanings parallel?

We could rename UI function names to anything we want in resource
RID_SC_FUNCTION_NAMES, or come up with new names for the real FDIST
and FINV functions. This should be clarified with the UX team.

It seems that there is something missing/wrong?

Just not thought over yet.

[sc-dev] Ugly DATE bug

2008-10-07 Thread Leonard Mada

Dear developers,

when are you going to fix the DATE-autoformat BUG?

I have a highly official document with various statistics split on age
groups and this is what I get:

1
01/04/08
05/09/08
10/14/08
15-19
20-24
25-34
35-44
45-54
55-64
65-74
75-84
85

I hope that anyone agrees that these are official age groups, and I
can't select a different number only because Calc does not properly
handle strings. As these statistics are generated automatically, I can't
simply go through dozens of reports and format the cells as string.

Sincerely,

Leonard
