Re: [sc-dev] Validator for Calc
Hi KAMI, > Please test it and write your experience. i had a look at the validator :-) i found extremely useful: it will show the precedent's even if they are on *other* sheets, oo's detective won't do that at the moment ... some hints: - selecting a listbox item should set the spreadsheet view to the selected cell, so user don't need to scroll - make validator window resizeable, so formula input field can grow - formulas should be displayed localized - running validator on a sheet with many formulas will took a long time until oo will respond again (oo seems to freeze). could validator run in a different thread ? - if a spreadsheet document is closed, validator will stay visible but seems not to work with another spreadsheet, until the dialog is closed and opened again. Oh, that's very cool. The formulas in watchwindow_1.1.2.1_kohei.oxt are wrong because you call the printFormula method with a wrong reference position. You have to pass the position of the formula cell. Hi Fellowship of Calc! I don't have a list of possible errors, it's still open to define them. Because this extension is not production quality we are still working on it, but we hit a problem that we can't avoid. If you interested I can send two version of it, one that works well with A1 reference modell another (patched by Kohei) works well with A1 and R1C1 notation but drops mystery reference errors. Re: [sc-dev] Validator for Calc
My biggest wish would be for type checking. E.g. if a cell seems to hold a currency value, and one a date, than + is an error. So, the idea is to verify that types are used in proper calculations. Some options may specify the stringency of the validation, e.g.: - allow or disallow + scalar This is more for the financial system, but it would be of huge benefit in that case.
