Why all these indirections? Each bundle which needs to do an upgrade
can be run by itself at the correct start level. So no need for a
collector bundle, service interface etc.
Blocking http requests is already done in other services we have, so I
don't see a reason why we should do this here as well.

Hi,
I've created an infra issue to create a dist/release folder in the
dist svn in order to use svnpubsub for our releases. Once this folder
is created we can switch to that system.

sting installations, but each
module should be free to set the base to Java 6 if it makes sense.
We should also mark the bundles which require Java 6 (I think Felix
proposed a way for this some time ago).
Please cast your votes :)

Hi,
our dist directory (www.apache.org/dist/sling) is now managed through
svn. So updating:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/sling/
automatically gets the updates to that directory - no need to ssh
login to the server anymore for uploading dist.

I think we should create an issue for this to keep track of the problem.

Hi,
thanks everyone - the vote to drop Java 5 support in general passed
with +1 votes: Justin Edelson, Mike Müller, Ian Boston, Felix
Meschberger, Jeff Young, Antonio, Sanso, Carsten Ziegeler, and
Bertrand Delacretaz.
I'll create an issue for this and update our parent pom with some su
