I've just fixed a bunch of problems and some low-hanging fruit. 5.4 is long
overdue, and if not perfect, nothing remaining (to my view) can't wait for
a 5.4.1 or even a 5.5 (which, I would hope, we be months out, not years!).
I would like the next tapestry release (not yet generated) to be rc-1.

Getting closer. In fact, I think we want opacity:0; for browsers that
support CSS transitions, opacity:0.25 for IE9 and the alpha filter for IE9.
In my webapps, I add additional style

Thanks for the KIND response Howard.
I am sh$%canning tynamo due to their lack of response which has
transcended years of open source abuse.
Which in turn leaves me to depart from tapestry 5 painfully
That was not supposed to go to the dev list!

Good news ... testing with FF 31 seems to work fine.

I just looked at the logs for the recent build failure:

Possibly we need to break the definitions into two parts, more like

Earlier I committed some changes and cut 5.4-beta-16.
I'm very happy with the page loading mask; it doesn't exist in JavaScript

This issue:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TAP5-2333
has a patch that improves performance by a noticable amount BUT means that
we lose the operations trace (at least, in production).
I'm pretty sure I want to keep the operation trace, even at the cost of
performance.
Thoughts?
