I see your VOTE thread.

I guess that means it's my turn to roll 8.5.x and 10.1.x.

I'll get on that this afternoon (NYC time).

There's one (unexpected) problem though: there is no recording at all.
I didn't expect it (it's 2022 now ;) ) and there was no notice about
this, so I don't have any equipment with me (but I have 100% and more
at home :D ). Chris will do audio. I might try the teacup phone holder
thing again for my talks.

Hi,

It is the beginning of the month so I'm thinking about releases again.

I remembered I'd given the ISAPI redirector installation instructions a
long overdue update late last year but got distracted before I did a
release. I've finished off some other ISAPI work I had sat in my dev
environment and I'll be tagging and starting the release process for
Tomcat Connectors shortly.

Once I have that release uploaded for voting, I intend to tag 9.0.x and
create an RC for that followed by 8.5.x.

A new month has started so I'm intending to do a 9.0.x and 8.5.x release
fairly soon. There are a couple of issues that I think need to be
resolved first:

- https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=61057 (ECJ)
- https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=61003 (WebSocket)
- Trailer header support (Servlet 4.0)

I'm currently expecting to be able to tag some time in the next 12 to 48
hours depending on how work on those issues progresses.

Update Tomcat-Native to reference 1.0.2h (possibly the only change since

time the release vote for that has finished, I should be in a position
to tag 9.0.x and can pick up the new Tomcat-Native just before I tag.

I'm all in favour of keeping 9.0.x and 8.5.x as close as possible.

+1.

Native 1.2.6 had wrong VERSIONS file (at the root of binary *.zip
files, at native/srclib/VERSIONS in source archives)
saying APR 1.5.1, while 1.5.2 was actually used.

Hi,

looked through them quickly and it looks like at least CVE-2016-2107 is
applicable to Tomcat-Native.

If all goes to plan, we should have a 9.0.x release around the middle of

At this time the APR connector remains the default one when native is used.
I would think it should stay that way for this build, although direct
OpenSSL works for me [at some small performance cost compared to full APR].

Yes, a change has been made to be able to detect the end of the handshake
during a renegotiation (this method also looks better during the initial
handshake but is incompatible with 1.2.3 - it will likely not detect the
handshake is done with the older native, so handshake will never complete).

Updating 8 to the new 1.2.4 native isn't mandatory.

Upcoming release plans

2016-01-04 Thread Mark Thomas
The changelog for 9.0.x is getting quite long so I'd like to do a
release. A 8.0.x release wouldn't hurt either.

I recall that Remy said it would be useful to have a Tomcat-Native
release first before the next 9.0.x release so my current thinking is:

- tag Tomcat-Native 1.2.4 tomorrow and start the release process
- tidy up any remaining 9.0.x and 8.0.x issues while the 1.2.4 vote
  progresses
- update 9.0.x and 8.0.x to Tomcat-Native 1.2.4 once released
- tag 9.0.x and start the release process
- tag 8.0.x and start the release process

Depending on timing the last two items may be in parallel or series.

I think I now have a nice improvement to the memory leak protection (see BZ

7.0.3 release plans

2010-09-30 Thread Mark Thomas
I'm done with the async re-factoring. I want to run through a complete
set of tests but I'm not expecting any major issues.

My plan for 7.0.3 is currently:
- fix as many bugs as I can between now and the weekend
- run the tests (JUnit, TCK) over the weekend
- assuming no failures, tag and roll the RC on Monday

I've got some 7.0.x stuff I want to finish before a try another 7.0.0

Release plans for 6.0.27 - ?

Hi!

When can we make 6.0.27?

There were a couple of important fixes since 6.0.26, like BZ 48903

I think it is about time to make 6.0.27.

I think that the logging improvement will need some more work and can
