AW: Inconsistent vote results? (Personal Feedback to the last board report)
Hi Zhiyuan, I don’t think we should be posting these links publicly. (But that’s my personal opinion and I haven’t discussed that with the others) If we wanted anyone to simply be able to sign-up, we’d enable that feature. As far as I know we switched to invite-based signups as a way to keep our slack instance free of bots and other malicious posters. By posting these links, anyone could sign up. But, given that these invites are single-channel-guest signup emails, I guess the only channel affected woud be the Apisix slack channel, so I guess if you want to do that, it’s up to you. (Personal Feedback to the last board report) Hi, Apache APISIX Slack is under the ASF’s control, and the invitation policy changes sometimes. But the invitation link only expires when reached to expire time, so everyone can use the same link before expiration. Here is the invitation link I generated just now: https://join.slack.com/t/the-asf/shared_invite/zt-25hj2vyph-4VRzYoPdAwLcfBBTTXQCQw Zhiyuan Ju Head of Global at API7.ai & ASF Member On Sat, Oct 21, 2023 at 21:23 Christofer Dutz mailto:christofer.d...@c-ware.de>> wrote: Hi all, while reviewing the projects latest activity as part of my board duties, I noticed that on your last VOTE thread counts 5 votes, however the vote-result email lists 6. I couldn’t find any vote from “Li Fabrice”. Could you please explain this? Also did I notice that invitations to Apache’s slack instance are posted via the public list. It would be good, if these would only be sent in individual emails as this way, we have no way of ensuring the invite is actually accepted by the intended person. The first person to click on that link gets in. Other than that, I’ve noticed the large number of new committers. Good job with that :-) Chris

Hi all, while reviewing the projects latest activity as part of my board duties, I noticed that on your last VOTE thread counts 5 votes, however the vote-result email lists 6. I couldn’t find any vote from “Li Fabrice”. Could you please explain this? Also did I notice that invitations to Apache’s slack instance are posted via the public list.
