find any .ac files or the defines in trunk. So maybe this has been fixed
already.

Oops, thank you. My bad. I will post this question/comment in the httpd mailing
list then.

his compiled
version of apr-util, Apache's configure uses the path /usr/local/ssl/lib
(as the openssl base path), even though I specified
--with-ssl=/usr/local/ssl on Apache's configure line.
As you can image, this is a slight problem, because
/usr/local/ssl/lib/lib does not exist.

ht?
I should be able to compile apr-util by pointing to my /usr/local/ssl
directory, but it doesn't work.
What am I supposed to do now?

the build systems take the openssl
version I specify with the --with-openssl=/usr/local/ssl option.
Since this works without any issues with anything but apr-util, I would
deduce it is a bug in apr-util configure.
Until now I never had any "mess" in my build environment.

No, /usr/local/ssl/lib/include does not exist either.

static, all is good.
The problem with something like --pkg-config-flags=--static is that this
would apply to all libraries.
