Just another point: The Core OS production template for VMware cannot be 
downloaded. There is something wrong. Would you prefer me to file a bug so that 
you can track this issue?

username is ubunutu. Password is returned in the response of
deployVirtualMachine api call. you can also stop the vm and
call resetPasswordForVirtualMachine to generate new password.

Hi. It looks a little bit strange. I don't know about jenkins.openvm.eu,
but I have deployed images from http://dl.openvm.eu/cloudstack/ to freshly
installed ACS 4.9.2 and registered templates as password-enabled, so cloud
init works well and they receive passwords properly. May be your demand is
the other one and I still don't understand what you wish to acomplish?

Anyway. Convert raw, use kpartx, mount -o loop & chroot to find what is
exactly inside it.
