1. boxes are safest to transport electronics. even boxes of boxes. imagine
someone will jump over the package. bags are not good :-)

2. you can mark shipment a "gift: old collectioner electronics boards" and
value $10 total it will be the tax free at the risk of loosing everything
valuable (maybe some insurance is possible but then real value must be
known and provided).

3. maybe cheapest local delivery of all bundle to Brazil/ USA, then local
arrangement + redistribution would be least painful logistics?

4. for international delivery FedEx is the best as they calculate all taxes
and customs upon order so there are no additional expenses and surprises
upon delivery (tested with USA Taiwan Singapore Europe UK).

For the initial shipment if I do it I would prefer to not take donations,
it is not worth the complications for tax things.

I think that, in order to organize, people need a better idea of what
"around 5-6 freight boxes of hardware, perhaps more" means exactly.

That would help plan what is needed to get them to another location.

I won't know how many boxes there would be until they are bagged and boxed.

Sure!  I would need some advance notice because there are no boxes yet.
The boards are all in small plastic storage boxes (aka, Tupperware) and
I need to bag, label, and box them up.  I will contribute the cost of
the boxes and packing materials.  The will need invoices for each box as
well.

Perhaps the volume of stuff will not be so bad when they are removed
from the plastic boxes and bagged.  I still think it is around 5-6
freight boxes -- not something that can be hand carried.  Shipping to
Brazil would still have to be arranged. Costa Rican snail mail is not
too expensive.  Most Latin American countries will require and invoice
with  a value associated with each item.  The customs fees/taxes will
probably be very high.  A wild guess would be a couple of hundred
dollars per box

Shipping to the US is far easier.  I work with a private shipping
company that shuttles things by sea or air between Miami and Costa Rica
and the US will not charge any customs fees or taxes on receipt.

Sometime ago I was talking with Brennan about listing the board that I
have here and he surprised me showing this board listing spreadsheet
on google docs. Maybe we can organize a listing to see who has board
X, Y, or Z and to make it possible to test NuttX on all possible
boards.

I have almost all of the older boards.

I have a special interested to find the launchxl-tms57004 because it
supports big-endian and I think there nobody testing NuttX on
big-endian (except maybe Zou/fft, he is using NuttX on Sparc arch that
is big-endian). So Greg, if you have this board I'm interest to get
it.

I have a couple of TMS570 boards.  I got them because the are
big-endian, Cortex-R, and I was helping Samsung port to their product
boards... back in days when we were good friends.

I don't remember if these are Lauchpads or not.  I bricked one. The have
lots of security including dual Cortex-R that shadow each other.
Somehow I got the cpus out of sync and it wouldn't boot anymore.

[Yes, Launchpads:
https://github.com/apache/nuttx/tree/master/boards/arm/tms570/launchxl-tms57004]

It would be nice to keep these all together and let people check them
out like books from a library.  Shipping from Costa Rica is a problem.

I think that the oldest NuttX port was to the TI  c5471 (there are some
older boards, but that is the oldest port).  That was a dual core
(ARM7TDMI/DSP) MCU and very similar to the MCU in the OSMOCOM project.
You and someone used that code to generate the NuttX port to the OSMOCOM
board.

Tomasz Cedro mentioned that he also were on the OSMOCOM project in those
early days and that is where he got familiar with NuttX.

Few days ago I found (and bought) on eBay from Australia the first
board that I tested NuttX in 2010:
https://acassis.wordpress.com/2010/08/01/getting-started-to-nuttx/
I also have several LPC23xxx boards.  I think all or most of those
listed in boards/arm.

This is a good idea!

A variable number of people have a variable number of boards so we should
think about how to keep this simple.

Agreed! Let's keep it in a separated thread.

Sometime ago I was talking with Brennan about listing the board that I
have here and he surprised me showing this board listing spreadsheet
on google docs. Maybe we can organize a listing to see who has board
X, Y, or Z and to make it possible to test NuttX on all possible
boards.

I have a special interested to find the launchxl-tms57004 because it
supports big-endian and I think there nobody testing NuttX on
big-endian (except maybe Zou/fft, he is using NuttX on Sparc arch that
is big-endian). So Greg, if you have this board I'm interest to get
it.

Few days ago I found (and bought) on eBay from Australia the first
board that I tested NuttX in 2010:

It could be an interesting test also to see how big NuttX became 13 years later.

Alan
