Introduction
Hello.
I'm Tobias Angele (20 years old) and I want to contribute to fedora packaging
the intellij idea package. I've made already some (really small) contributions,
e.g. to debian:

In any case you may add IntelliJ to Java SIG package wishlist [2] or ask
for volounteers on java-devel mailing list.
I've tried to add it to the page, but for some reason the wiki isn't
saving for me. It keeps bouncing me back to the edit page

intellij/IDEA has now mostly been folded into AndroidStudio which while
not in the default repos can be obtained on the android dev d/l page
Hi
It's a great idea, but IntelliJ (For Android and Java) need as requirement
Oracle JDK, so, Fedora has OpenJDK. PyCharm, RubyMine and Webstorm not need
Oracle JDK.

I think it's a great idea. IntelliJ is the basis for the new Android dev
env (though Eclipse can still be used). I looked at trying to package it
again, but as you say it looks like a pretty big task.

requirement for Android Studio. The only caveat
of using OpenJDK with IntelliJ is that upstream won't take bug reports. If
people can live with that I think it is a great idea. Maybe if enough folks
were using IntelliJ with OpenJDK, it might help change their stance on Oracle
JDK requirement
for Android development. OpenJDK 7 vs Oracle JDK 7 is a
moot point.
IntelliJ 14 fully supports JDK 8 and next preview version of Android Studio
will be based off IntelliJ 14.
