Are there any EPEL > maintainers who are interested in creating an EPEL version of this package? given I'm replying to an old thread, I'm not really sure if you're still interested, but https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1983416 is what I now submitted for a package review. Yes, the package might not be perfect because /usr/bin/gcc can not be used directly, but there are alternative GCC frontends such as 'gnatgcc' that worked (at least for me) as expected. As it can be seen from the RHBZ dependencies, I'm caring about Objective-C support, but I thought it might be worth to cover all missing parts. As far as I can tell "hello world" worked for all built languages and the gcc-epel package can be used also for scenarios with a single compiler but multiple programming languages, e.g. by using CC=gnatgcc (used inside the package to achieve bootstrapping). I am sorry, but if some folks decide to run kind of a GRUB2 fork, then please do it either properly (e.g. by calling it an official fork and a separate project that might attract other projects as GRUB2 alternative), or get the changes into upstream. Staying close to upstream is a Fedora goal: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Staying_close_to_upstream_projects As long as EfiFs upstream only supports a non-forked GRUB2, I won't change my package except when being forced officially by FESCo to do so (in that case I will consider orphaning the package). Anyway, as long as systemd-boot upstream does not seem to care much about whether vfat XBOOTLDR is working at all (even an EfiFs driver is loaded by UEFI itself; their own internal UEFI driver loader is not yet implemented), a discussion about EfiFs using the Red Hat GRUB2 fork is IMHO unnecessary. And if I would open Pandora's box, I wonder if the efifs upstream maintainer (Cc-ed) is still going to support me further in case of issues (especially if caused by the Red Hat grub2 fork) - Pete? My intention of packaging efifs for Fedora was to get systemd-boot handling my ext4 XBOOTLDR (https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/17756), which still is not working, because of the two issues mentioned there (and less systemd-boot upstream interest as it seems). Hello, On Sat, 19 Oct 2013, Reindl Harald wrote: what is needed to be resolved? my SPEC file is removing all the things i do not need and not things with bugs to solve - the reason why i build it myself honestly since years is that the fedora packages are way too often outdated if you would be fair and compare my GIT commit or the Fedora Bodhi update timestamps, you would note that this is not true, neither for Fedora, nor for Fedora EPEL. The update of phpMyAdmin happened usually between a few less minutes after the upstream announcement or at latest a few less days after. Neither nor can be IMHO treated as often outdated. If you complain that the package usually takes 7-14 days to enter Fedora stable repository, then you are right. But I also can not remember, that you *ever* added some karma in Bodhi for phpMyAdmin. Nor can I remember that you ever filed a RHBZ complaining about a non up-to-date phpMyAdmin. Please think about that...before complaining about my efforts over years now. the rpm-SPEC does not more and not less than package the upstream source in a rpmpackage as it is Just have a look to your rm(1) calls: Some of the stuff that you are just removing for your own package needs to be unbundled for Fedora. And that means that these libraries/software need to be packaged as own RPMs. And crippling phpMyAdmin by just removing functionalities does not help users, too. Users are using phpMyAdmin due its tons of functionalities like the PDF export for example. I'm not familiar with the recent changes in Boost, but is the API stable enough to support a package to build on EL 5/6 and Fedora? the boost141 was more by accident in Fedora. I needed the package for Zarafa in Fedora EPEL 4 and 5. The package is a rebuild of boost from RHEL 6 with adaptions to make it installable in parallel with the old boost versions that RHEL 4 and 5 ship. My personal goal is to keep the boost141 package in sync with RHEL 6 one - so there should be no ABI/API changes in Fedora EPEL 5 for this package ever. I am also not following up this boost141 or boost148 or whatever topic for Fedora as Zarafa (the package why I needed this) is able to handle more recent boost versions now - however nothing older than boost141. Splitting of unicap into libunicap, libucil and libunicapgtk
Hello folks, the upstream of unicap splitted the unicap package into libunicap, libucil and libunicapgtk. On run-time they're 100% compatible with unicap, but only all three new packages together replace the previous unicap package. Thus none of libunicap, libucil ands libunicapgtk has a provides for unicap and all obsolete unicap. On build-time, you've to decide/figure out, which of the new packages are needed. Note that libunicapgtk depends on libucil and libucil depends on libunicap (these dependencies are build and run-time). Right now, there are still buildroot overrides on EL-5 and F-11+ that new builds of packages depending on former unicap can be fired easily with the new dependencies. Greetings, Robert -- devel mailing list devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel
