The photographs show shutdown is stalled on the wireless interface,
which means the driver cannot proceed. If the wireless driver is
hung, then Browse won't work either.
Run the hardware self test as I asked.
Replace the wireless card. It is probably damaged.

The instruction work and it is a rest for my thumbs, fingers and
eyes :-)as I keep the SD inserted and manually type the command
instead!
You can copy /bootpart/boot/olpc.fth to /bootpart/x and then at boot
type
boot int:x
