Hi Christopher,
I fail to see what is the wrong location in your opinion. Do you think
that a window manager should install its desktop file in
/usr/share/xsessions or in /usr/share/applications?
All the best,
Germán.

It doesn't improve the UI, or discoverability, in my opinion. But it does
potentially conflict with the active application. The existing
it is... but for a user that
never used Gnome 3 before, the notification will be hidden in the bottom
panel, which is hidden from the user and is hard to discover, unless you
already know that you must go with the mouse to the very right bottom
corner of the screen.
