Hi,

I think it's just assigning setup.
On Android and Web browser on smartphone (Smartphone app), you have assign
a user to specific orgUnit which also has dataSet assigned to.

For example:
Your dataSet is assign to level 3, then you also need to assign the user to
level 3. On web version, if you assign user to level 1, you can do data
entry for level 2,3,4, but on Smartphone app and Android app, you can't.

Some experiences, hope it can help you!

Is anyone able to help me troubleshoot a problem with the browser-based mobile 
client (smartphone) in Chrome and Firefox.



When entering data using the URL: /dhis/mobile/data-entry, I am receiving this 
error: "No organisation units available for data entry." The server is logging 
a java.lang.NullPointerException

If I try to enter data in a dataset at Level 1 or Level 2, there is no error. 
If the dataset is at Level 3 or 4 in the hierarchy, the error is flagged. In an 
Incognito Browser window, the browser redirects to /dhis/mobile/index 
automatically and the error disappears.

I have tested this with multiple users, brand new users, and different user 
roles, including superuser role. If a superuser has access to datasets for Org 
Units at Level 1 and Level 2, then other users who sign in on the same browser 
will also have access to enter data at these levels until the cache is cleared. 
Then the error message about organization units will be shown.



I entered a bug report (https://jira.dhis2.org/browse/DHIS2-2013 ) in case this 
is something others are experiencing.

Yes. That should be possible if you have access to the DB and you know the
element ID, categoryoptioncombo and attributeoptioncombo of both the old
and new DEs.
The easiest work around for me would be to export the data to CSV and
import into the new DE.

and changing the property of the DE at this time will bring about some
violations.

The solution is to create another DE with the compulsory attribute and
remove the previous one from the Dataset.
But you might need to trade with the data that was previously entered using
the DE.

Trying to upload -any- rows in CSV is now not working. For instance, when trying to upload this csv:tHF7qDZVeoT,ACTIVE,iMQ9InaUU5m,Wn7LAv17lfS,,kJq2mPyFEHo,2014-05-25T00:00:00.000,2017-07-12T19:11:19.801,0,0,oZg33kd9taw,Male,,Usingcurl -d @programKenemaTest.csv "http://localhost:8085/api/events" -H "Content-Type:text/csv" -u admin:district -vI get the error:"httpStatusCode":500,"status":"ERROR","message":"could not execute statement"Same error when I use the import event app in DHIS2.I converted that row into XML and the import was successful. So before I create the issue in JIRA, I would prefer if you take a look at the format of my CSV. Have you considered using LDAP? we have had support for that a few releases. 
OpenID is basically deprecated, and I suggest not going that route. OAuth2 does 
not itself contain any authentication protocols (we are using basic or form 
based to get the bearer token).

We have a issue for adding OpenID connect support (OpenID 2 + OAuth2) but 
that's not something that is coming soon.

We did consider LDAP – and it’s certainly still on the table – but were 
definitely, based on your response, heading in the wrong direction; I have been 
investigating a number of OpenID server entities instead, so I am grateful for 
your advice.
We’ll experiment with LDAP instead, and see where we wind up!  One day soon, we 
hope to begin documenting and sharing with the community all our “solutions”, 
so will eventually revert with our end-game…
