Thank you. I hope to see something more tangible in the future as
it's an interesting area to explore.

I think that's a reasonable policy. The last thing any of us
want is to stifle debate or censor opinions, but we feel that
it's reasonable to ask people to participate in debates and
express their opinions without upsetting others. So we're going
to do our best to find a middle ground.

Bit of shame you feel the need to make a change given the
circumstances you've detailed. I think you've done a fine job
thus far.

Appreciate your response!

I'm ignorant. Why is this significant?

This is really good.

Have you considered uploading the audio to Spotify or
somewhere as a podcast? No idea what that would involve, but
for a lot of us there are more opportunities to listen to a
podcast rather than watch a YT video.

I mostly use this site:

The intro music and the beginning of the video were great.

I've used those tools before, but it's not the same as following
a podcast on Podbean, and you're not going to get into anyone's
search on the podcast services.

One reason is that the editing can be done automatically by
services like Descript. I don't know if Mike does it manually.

This has changed a lot over recent years - the youtube
algorithm now rewards longer length videos. It is the rise of
the podcast!

The average youtube show I watch now is over 90 minutes long and
these are pretty popular so it isn't just me. (Of course, I
listen to them at 2x speed...)

Though, I don't expect there'd be much of a difference either way
between 55 and 60 minutes anyway... it'd depend more on how it
sounds and flows to see if it worth your time I guess.

I do think it turned out ok as it is btw.

I'd like to suggest that you don't make these "micro-cuts"
through the interview/discussion, let it flow. I've been seeing
this around these videos and I think it's better to let it go
as is (Like it was live). Or if possible have the 2 versions
(With and without cuts).

Thanks! Unfortunately, I disagree about the cuts. The primary
motivation is to trim the length of the video down. I think
that's important for YouTube videos. The cuts I make can
cumulatively lop several minutes off the video. I wasn't as
aggressive with this one as I have been with the DConf Online
vids. Most of what I cut out was dead air, but I also got rid of
a few uhs and ahhs, a handful of tied tongues, and a couple of
instances where one of us had to start over again.

As for two versions, I'm not really interested in adding the
extra time for that to my workflow :-)
