How do I upgrade the firmware? When I first turned on the SqueezeBox2
it asked me if I wanted to upgrade. I think I pressed yes.
The firmware is upgraded with the server version. You're on 6.0.x I guess.
6.1 will introduce access to the SqueezeNetwork which requires a firmware
upgrade. As
I imagine it is encoded at an unusual frequency or bit rate.
I guess the solution would be to someone transcode it through lame
before it is sent to the Squeezebox?
Thoughts?

Anyone got any ideas on this?
I'm still getting this problem and have also noticed that when I select
an album and press play slimserver plays to near the end of track 1
and then hangs. The display still reads playing but I get no sound.
Stopping the track and playing again sorts it and the

Good network managment is to keep all servers logged out. This
avoids Man in the middle style attacks. Basically put, someone
could launch an attack through the logged in account and hijack your
server. I'm not too worried, I'm behind a firewall and the only

I'm sure I've seen recommended to use the 'Primary Sound Driver' or similar

I know how to do it with squeezebox1, I can make a guess with
squeezebox2. I assume you want to use flac decoding on the hardware
itself.
Create a file called 'slimserver-convert.conf' in the base directory of

Just to add my 2c worth I am also experiencing this but on an SB1,

I work around it by pressing and holding the pwr button on the remote

You can even use character combinations to make the separator more unique.
Something like %; would be a pretty safe bet, for instance.

Hi,
Running LAME and AlienBBC are the next priority. We should be able to
test this week.
I have had 5x Slimdevices boxes running off this box all playing
different MP3 (192VBR) files without any problems. Playing with FLAC
files this week.

Thanks for that. The use of an unusual character makes sense but hadn't
occurred to me. I agree that a better solution is to support multiple
tags of the same name. Hopefully this will be incorporated into
SlimServer soon.
Just to be clear, this support would be for FLAC and other
A couple of comments:
1. a low-power, streamlined server dedicated to running SlimServer is a
great idea but quite a niche market
2. If you assume that the target market would be technically-competent
people (like many of us on here) then I would say that the prices you
are quoting would mean

Whether it's technically or financially possible for Slim Devices to do
