I see that DDWRT doesn't support the WRT54G v7 because of the chipset.
I therefore assume it won't support v8 either.
I'm no expert on flashing firmware with aftermarket products, so this
probably isn't the best solution for me, even were it to support my new
router.

Unfortunately my SB3 remote fell on to a tiled floor this morning and
split up into several pieces - back, front, batteries, PCB, clear
plastic with holes in it and rubber keypad.
Assuming I'm not missing any pieces, it seems that the PCB simply sits
in the back, the clear plastic is placed

Just use your music folder on the server Mac. Make a symbolic link to
the external drive and put this in the music folder. When I do this, I
can see the drive using another machine on the network running Windows
no problem.

I really think this scanner needs to be sorted out! It's always giving
one problems! I remember on XP I was having issues when once in a while
it would go into a loop and run infinitely, or just get stuck somewhere.

re-enable the plug-ins and still have everything work properly.

glitch that I can't figure out. I have a library of 14000 songs
probably 1300 artists, don't use itunes, have server 6.5.3 running.
The library displays every artist but one in alphabetical order by
first name which is fine.

I run a slimserver 6.5.3 on server 2003 with 3 Squeezeboxes. 2 of them
act as a alarm to wake us up in the morning. The first alarm (daily)is
working well. The second box only starts showing the song, and i have
to push the play button.
any ideas ?

i bought apair of devolo dlan 200 to explore this and got not good
results, the sound in the squeezebox had a very noticeable electrical
background noise, easily identifiable with the leds monitoring activity
in the devolo device, so i forgot this approach.
Just my 2 cents.

In SlimServer, check your AUDIO options for the specific player that

server not stream FLAC files remotely? I was using MediaMonkey which
can play FLAC files directly.

Also, as you are only streaming MP3, you don't need port 3483 open -
thats used by Softsqueeze and Squeezebox.
Can I make a suggestion? Irrationally, (or not), hearing that you have
got ports 9000 and 3483 open to the world gives me shivers...

I have Slimserver set up to use my (J:) drive as my main detection drive
and there is a shortcut to the (I:) drive. For some reason I can not
get Slimsever to recognize either drive.
The (H:) drive is for my Ipod but doesn't show up when not plugged in.
Is this maybe the answer? Any help
