Hi,
Something weird started happening recently with my SB2. When I play a
new song, it doesn't automatically come up on the SB display. The
music plays fine. I can update the screen by pressing the now
playing button, but I never had to do that until recently.
Also, my remote is doing weird
As I said, I have been using Foobar2000 under Parallels. Foobar can't
properly access the optical drive, though EAC can.

Morning everyone.
I recently had a nightmare and inadvertently lost about 5000 songs from
a hard disk which wasn't backed up.
So, I'm in the process of re ripping my music collection. Once again
I'm using EAC and itunes encode to rip to Apple Lossless.

There problem I have is on my Squeezebox (3). It has 10 menu items in
the root menu, of which one is the shoutcast menu. Since a week now, it
stopped working because it cannot parse the list of shoutcast servers
anymore...

But did you also loose the iTunes XML library file? If the missing songs
still appear in the iTunes app - then to SS they are still there as
well, if you have the box checked use iTunes.
What you may do, is from iTunes - select all, delete (don't remove
the actual files), then import your
OK ... I've finally gotten this sorted, and I actually like the setup
for the Infrant NV+ a lot. I had a frustrating week trying to get my
linksys wireless router to talk to other devices, and finally went to
Best Buy and bought a NetGear wireless router.
The problems resolved themselves,
Does anybody else have this problem with firmware 81?
I hope it gets fixed with firmware 82!

Hi there. I've been enjoying my Squeezebox 3 for about a year now, but
I had to change my wireless router and I'm having trouble.
I lost my Linksys router and installed a Belkin model G 4-port wireless
router. I can connect to it from the SB3 and get onto the Squeeze
Network without any
When you connect a laptop with wireless, can it see the slimserver?
Do you mean with router ports port forwarding?
You don't need port forwarding in your internal network, it's only for
access from the internet.
Is your Router also cable or dsl modem?

Thanks for the reply.
I don't have a laptop available to test the system. I can however ping
the SB3 from my PC, which is hard wired to the router.
The port opening is in the Belkin control panel section called
virtual servers. I set the IP address for the PC running Slim Server
so calls on
Try pressing brightness for some seconds to trigger a firmware update.
Does the server report that any players need updating?

Well, this is beta software you have there so you have at least two
things you can do. One - revert to an earlier version. Two - if
you're sure its a real problem, make your first entry in the Find 'em
Contest (see the Beta board for more info).

To which Network you mean? Well, I'm not connected to the
SqueezeNetwork, if that's what you mean. I'm just connected to my local
slimserver.
Btw, this is the complete error I get when clicking on 'Shoutcast' in
the SlimServer:
Had to do a downgrade to 655. Now everything is working again.

Over the last week or so my Slimserver often freezes - causing both
SB3's to 'lock up'. Only way to resolve it is restart Slimserver.

Is it repeatable with ertain tracks? If so then that sounds like a
plausable explination.
You should probably turn on some of the debugging options in server
settings. I would suggest some to try, but i'm running a SS7 beta and
the debug routines are very different from 6.5.x

I think the problem may be Firefox and the handling of multiple http
request in parallel which may be exacerbated by single core
processors.

serving up mp2's at 256kbps! i really didn't anticipate it would be
