I have a SB3, which for some reason causes my amplifier to lock up.
(the amp does not lock up if the SB3 is left without power) The SB3 is
connected to the amp via Toslink/optical and located abt. 8 ft. from
the amp.
I suspect that the SB3 is sending/broadcasting IR codes even while it

The SB3 doesn't have an IR emitter unless you buy an optional one and
plug it into the headphone output...
So, no, it doesn't send out IR unless you work to make it do that.

Disconnect the toslink, maybe your amp is autosensing inputs or
similar ?
Teh SB is never off realy so it migth still send something trough the
spdif/toslink.
This is normally considered a good thing, other wise you will have
clicks and pops and other artefacts when amp is losing lock on the

Same problem here I used 7.0 and after updating to 7.01 I lost favorites
option in the remoet...stil works on the web browser...
I then tried to go back to 7.0 but that didtnt help...
Any new solution to this? really a bad bug that you cant add Favorites!

Brand new clean install of Squeezecenter 7.01 on Ubuntu 8.04. This was
done via apt-get and debian slimserver repository (note: 7.01, not

I have found the problem.
The log said can't locate Plugins/CDplayer/plugin.pm.
But the unarchived folder was not named CDplayer, its name was CDplayer
2. Changing the name to CDplayer got it going.

The DDU1615 is quite a fast (48x) DVDROM/CDROM drive - I was worried it
might be a very slow drive.
I have an old DDU1613 (40x) - I installed in on an XP system and tested
it and it worked OK with CDplayer. The DDU1615 is the next generation
and I think should work as well.

Does the SB3 display face the IR input on the amp? The display is
multiplexed and it may be have enough output in the IR spectrum at the
right frequency to confuse the amp's IR detector.
Try turning the SB3 so the amp can't see its display.

The filename shouldn't be the issue as it is output to stdout and piped
into Lame or Flac when run by SC.

They are loading their own player when accessing the web-page, and i

relevant in itself, the .raw extension suggests that it has been saved
to the wrong kind of file. I have not found anything that will let me
play the file, even if I change the extension to .wav

The log shows everything OK but for some reason the command to read a
track doesn't execute. Since there is no copy of the actual command, I
have added an extra log command to the CDPLAY.pm file - the modified
version is attached. Can you replace the current CDPLAY.pm and restart
SC.

couple of years maybe?), but just upgraded the slimserver to the latest
7.0 squeezecenter software and have a couple gripes/questions/pleas for

standard Linux CDROM interface. However I think OSX has some special

I have the same issue in the Windows version- there doesn't seem to be
any compatibility between the artwork that iTunes recognizes and the
artwork that SqueezeCenter does.
For the most part, I need to have a cover.jpg file in every music
folder for SC, and also link that file to each mp3 track
You will need the iTunes updater plugin (see 3rd party plugins) or you
need to manually add the iTunes artwork either to the album folder (as
folder.jpg or cover.jpg) or to the mp3 tags.
iTunes does not do that but stores its downloaded artwork in it's own
cache file structure.

and fills in all the holes. It seems iTunes embedding of covers
doesn't quite work the way SS wants to see it. This solved it for me!!

I run Slimserver on PowerPC running a fully updated 10.4.11. I just
downloaded and installed SqueezeCenter 7.0. However if fails to start.
It tries to start for a few seconds and then it just dies off. Here's
the slimsever log regarding what's going on:

No... it uses the transcoding pipeline stuff, which means FF/RW don't
work. (I'd love to find a solution to this if anyone has any

I installed the new squeezecenter 7.0 software but when I click on
Start Server, Web Access remains grayed out and eventually Stop Server
reverts back to Start Server again. Any ideas? Also where can i
download the Slim Server software 6.5.1 so I can try it.

it is larger in the laptop.
And theres differences in the SqueezeBoxes the Slimp3 and Squeezebox v1
has smaller buffers.
You can set the buffer time for radio on Both SqueezeNetwork and your
Local SqueezeCenter.
SN players then settings for the player then network

We have a squeezebox 3 which we love. It is a great little device apart
from one thing - it now has an intermittent display problem.
From time to time the top row of pixels are dead. It now happens more
often than not. This is the case whether the unit is on or off.
