My squeezebox has a temperamental plug, too.
I just moved my router, which touched the plug, and it rebooted. I then
pulled and re-insterted the plug, and... nothing.
No life in my Squuezebox 3.
I'm going to do a full reset (xlinx, too), just as soon as I find out
how...

I'm thinking about having a play with iPeng (I'll borrow my daughter's
iPod Touch to try it out).
But I'm currently running SqueezeCenter 7.3.2 - never had any need to
update it. I checked on the iPeng site and couldn't find any indication
of which versions of SqueezeCenter/SqueezeboxServer it
It works but you won't have all the functionality you'll see with 7.4 or
later.
7.4 introduced a way to add context sensitive information (e.g. Album
Info, Artists Info) in 7.3 that's limited to Track Info and stuff
provided by Erland's plugins.
That's the main difference, I believe.

Hi bpa,
would it be ok if I were to upload a plugin based on your aacplus
plugin? :)

Actually the SqueezePlay interface is quite different from the older
players, such as SB, SB2, SB3/Classic, Transporter, and Boom.
I am pretty sure it can be used outside the local network. You
I never get the menu choices you mention when I launch Squeezeplay from

music through the speakers of your mac, and not through, say, a sound
card, so it's pretty irrelevant at

This post is a relief to me. I thought there was something wrong with
because of my levels of passion towards my squeezebox!
I have 1 SBC and 1 SBR and I love them. I just got Ipeng and also am
completely smitten.
Sad but true these products are addictive!

No problem. I think the mplayer.sh may be a bit old when handling
mplayer paths for OSX but if it works then it is not a problem.
Ideally the plugin should work for Windows, Linux and OSX.

I have moved my Squeezebox slightly further away from my amp using a
very long cheap RCA to RCA cable and unfortunately it picks up a lot of
noise.
I'd like to buy a new cable about 2m or maybe 2.5m in length - can
someone recommend somewhere I can but a decent quality but good value

I've used cables from here:

I've seen some good reviews of these:

Both of which are bit more than your budget.
This place has a wide range of cheap cables:
Thanks! :)
I use the binary from the MPlayer OSX Extended.app (and have patched
the filepath accordingly). I will upload the plugin later on.
P.S.: What files would I have add if I were to decide on a real
repository later on?

Ok, here is a first version that should work both on MacOS X and Linux
(no Windows support yet). For MacOS X it assumes the MPlayer OSX
Extended.app to be in /Applications/MPlayer/. Tested on a Intel MacMini
with MacOS X 10.6.3 SBS 7.6 installed. :)
Hi,
This appears to be an excellent tool... I can imagine having better
documentation of my albums will make it easier to avoid buying
duplicates when I am at the store! One issue is preventing me from
using it though - Squeezebox Server says I have 1421 albums but ACC
says I have 1410. So
My husband and I have been trying to figure this out for a while now.
I've had to live with cords all through the house for a couple of
months. Can I tell you how annoying that is? Thanks for posting what
you ended up doing. Hopefully, this weekend, we'll have a chance to
finish it up.

What a nightmare. Don't you hate wasting your time on stuff like this?
It's like... you have it listed... know your policies that you have
offered. I feel like a lot of my life is drained from these kinds of
calls and stuff.

And getting mad with them doesn't help either - it makes them care even
less. It's like talking to a brick wall. Health insurance companies
are the best for this.

My problem with SqueezePlay is that I can no longer access my server
