Hi, I have had this situation where my SB3 kept on re-updating its
firmware although it was already on the latest firmware. In the past I
could get past it by updating the Slim Server version on my ReadyNAS

I have a Radio attached via wireless and a Touch attached via Ethernet
to a Synology NAS running the squeezebox package.
My music is separated into two folders- MP3's and FLAC.
I have about 30GB files in the MP3 Folder and 15GB files in the FLAC

are you browsing your files via artist, album, etc. or are you using
music folder to browse. SbS is really designed to use tags and album,

issue. And the browsing slowness shouldn't really be related to FLAC vs
mp3 file type.
A Synology NAS 110j is 800 MHz CPU but only 128 MB so limited space for
handling data.
No personal experience with SBS on a NAS but I would say shutdown all
not needed services on the NAS; and have a look in the Synology
forum... well and here.
You could hang on and wait for 7.6 around

Hi precious people of the forum,
I am happy to present you: Squidget - the first SqueezeBox widget for

Squidget is available on Android Market. Just search the market for

Just purchased it.
The 1X4 is way too small but the 3X4 looks good.
The search function is very good.
So far so good.

Hi ganjastone
I just bought it, and installed it.
It works great, especially the album function that pops up the related
albums of the curreny artist. Nice one.
I guess the idea behind this widget was to use your Android smart phone
as a true remote for the SBS.
Well it does the job, and does
Thanks Kobip,
For now if you click a song it jumps to it. If you long click you can

Hi Pippin,
Here goes:
I just tested 480x320 - The Widgets sizing 4x2 and 4x1 works well, 4x3
doesn't. 4x3 is just too big for such a resolution.

I am probably missing something here and it would not be the first time.
What is the reason for converting MP3 to FLAC ? Once a file has been
converted to a lossy format, converting it to a lossless format would
not improve sound quality and just increase file size.

Avi,
my device is a SonyEricsson XPeria X10 Mini Pro (others can build whole

It's home screen orientation is indeed portrait but as soon as you want

The size of the file should really have nothing to do with Squeezebox's
ability to stream it. You stream a little until the buffer fills
sufficiently, then
I deliberately made some change in the song information hoping the
scanner can pick up the new change. I found 1 album out of 9 is
successfully scan the first song of that album. However, no matter how
hard I tried the other 8 album are still without the first song.
