They did sell the Touch for quite a while but they dismantled most of
the development team even before the release.

Hi,
Wol is a complex thing.
its Hard Softwarebased.
So please describe your Network and what Versions / Os you have (with
the problems)
Basic is:
The Bios/UEFI has a MenĂ¼ - WOL must be enabled.
The Switch/ Router has a Map this MAC Adress is here this Mac

But is not wol supposed to work over broadcast ? if i use an utility
where i can manually spec the mac anything on the net with that mac
should wake up ?
But keep the ideas

That seems rather clunky. Can't you attach a touch screen to the

Except the touchscreen isn't expensive at all. Similar screens are on
every dime-a-dozen phone, GPS, etc. It may have seemed a lot fancier
than the VFD screens that had been used in previous SBs, but it was

You do need to factor in the programming required but the main point is
not the cost its the fact that the inclusion of a touch screen so
closely tethered to the HiFi when virtually everyone had a hand held

I rarely use the touch screen, and in one of my touches it is in a

Thank's again ! i will read this more carefully when i get home .
Why i wanted to pull the plug was to test if the root cause is that the
server looses its memory , before investigating more complex causes . It
can be that simple as everything works fine ( including wol ) when i'm
around .
One part solved for now ( I must gather more data after a long stay from
home ).
Fact I forgot to mention i use WOL to boot the server it's not ojust the
standby part .
The server NIC can't remember a thing even if remove the power just a
couple of seconds . So power cable must be in even if
It just seems like a LOT of equipment required to do something
relatively simple.

True. But people say the same about my home setup. For the car I simply
plug in my iPhone which has some tunes that I change now and then. I
don't need my 75k tracks with me. Then again, my commute is 5 to 8
minutes depending on the traffic light (or a 25 minute stroll). For our
few long trips we
Still nothing of this exclude each other .
Squeezelite is better and more configurable as a player these days and
can easilly be installed with the local player plugin , done .
That would not exclude SqueezePlay as a possible UI among many .
But then again iPeng is the better UI imo and easy to

That may well have been the larger share of the cost, but a lot of that
was probably easy to spin off from the beginnings of SqueezeOS on the SB
Controller.

Yes, it does. I believe that the problem was a timing issue. Although
