Using active loudspeakers without any knobs it would be fine to control
the balance via LMS.

I'm not backing the cable - I'm curious about possible

When I'm browsing here using my mobile, I sometimes get the mobile view
and sometimes the desktop view. I can't figure out what the variable is
resulting in one or the other. When in mobile view, there is a desktop
option, but I can't see a way to force mobile view when in desktop
view.

Now that I've completely switched over to PcP I have 5 unused Apple
Airports looking for a new owner. They come with 2 S/PDIF cables, but
they all do optical and analog out.
In principle they work with LMS, if you install the Airplay bridge
plugin.
Message me if interested (shipping from

My (currently on pause) radio station had an Ogg/FLAC stream with
metadata. It wasnt difficult to put together. The technical issue was
with the player software

Ogg/FLAC?
Spotify claims it will be compatible with existing Connect speakers, so
if we're lucky Spotty will just work ;)
I seriously doubt it. Their current streams are Ogg. I would be
surprised if _any_ Connect speaker would work without a firmware update.

I'll repeat what I just wrote in another thread, to hopefully continue

Whether Spotify HiFi will ever work with Spotty, I can't say. When that
would be even less so. It will certainly not be available when HiFi
starts. As Spotty is using an open source implementation of a
There are a number of "Maybe the USB cable is bad?" posts on various Pi
forums.
A few of them seem to be fixed by either upgrading s/w (especially
firmware) or downgrading from Buster.

Yes - the loose +5v wired seemed to be the obvious
I agree that it will be a real plus for the largest streaming service to
finally offer CD quality at least as lossless downloads . Spotify has
enough of a lead in this market to withstand the troubled economic times
we find ourselves in . This will mean as stated above that should one of

Just a quick follow up to the above. I see the Naim MP3

But it works on the Macbook. I wonder if different chipsets handle the
link negotiation differently. Maybe the Pi uses only a fixed data rate,
whereas the Macbook might do some sort of adaptive rate?

Maybe the ultra-clean, perfectly-timed data bits are just too much for
the Raspberry pi to cope with :)
